Rain's Paradox
The rain falls soft,a whispers on my skin,
Each droplet like a story to begin.
Thunder rumbles, distant but so near,
A monster's growl that fills my heart with fear.
The shower kisses flowers, grass and trees,
While lightning cracks the sky with electric ease.
Clouds hang low, a blanket dull and gray,
Hiding blue skies and sunshine far away.
The wind picks up, it whips around my face,
Turning gentle rain to wild disgrace.
But droplets sings a song of sweet refrain,
A lullaby that calms the restless brain.
Oh rain, you puzzle me time and again,
Your beauty and your anger cause such pain.
You wash the world so clean with every fall,
Yet your storms can make the bravest feel small.
Oh rain, you are a paradox profound,
In your beauty and your terror, we are bound.
